Type: Touch Probe
Description
The Roland MDX-40 Benchtop 3D Milling Machine facilitates unattended milling on four sides, making it easier than ever to create prototypes, parts and precision models. Targeted for engineers, industrial designers, educators and others involved in product design applications, the MDX-40R is ideal for in-house use, empowering end users with full-featured SRP (Subtractive Rapid Prototyping ) capabilities right at their desktop. Roland's MDX-40 is a new 4-axis, desktop Subtractive Rapid Prototyping (SRP) system that offers product designers a major value. The MDX 40 creates prototypes out of a wider variety of non-proprietary materials with greater precision and better surface finish. Like all Roland SRP devices, the MDX-40R can mill a wide range of low cost, non-proprietary materials including ABS, delrin, nylon, and aluminum. This lets engineers create functional prototypes to determine how well products will actually work. Handled by market focus groups, these prototypes must perform like the final manufactured product and survive a barrage of physical tests, including thermal and structural trials.
